Michael's 28th Birthday Dinner

Michael's birthday was October 25th (the same day we went to the pumpkin patch) so we decided to go out for a birthday dinner to Chili's with some family and friends. We all had a great time talking and laughing, but poor Michael totally got jipped on his birthday dessert. I told the waitress it was Michael's birthday and all he got was a song! Since when did we stop giving out free birthday ice cream? Do we have an age limit now for free dessert? What a rip off!

Pickin' Pumpkins. . .Kind Of. . .

We visited the pumpkin patch the weekend before Halloween with some family and friends. The girls had a fabulous time running through the dirt fields and seeing all of the pumpkins. Unfortunately, there had been a freeze a few days before, so many of the pumpkins with pretty gross. They were charging 7.00 a pumpkin and I just couldn't bring myself to make sense of paying that much for one when we could get a better one at Walmart for $4.00! So, we let the girls have their pumpkin patch experience and pick out pumpkins and then secretly left them on the side of the road as we got the girls into their carseats. Later, I stopped at Walmart and picked up a couple of pumpkins, which, thankfully, Lily didn't know them any better than from the ones we picked at the pumpkin patch.

Shortly after this picture was taken, Lily tripped and fell into a rotten,
squashed pumpkin and dyed her pants and shoes orange. This incident was responsible for her sour mood for most of the rest of the day.

All in all, even with the cold wind, it was a fabulous time! The farm also had farm animals and yummy treats to enjoy!

Lily's New Trick

We were out driving the other day when I hear Lily from the backseat exclaiming excitedly, "Mommy, look at my trick!" So, I turn around to see what she is talking about (don't worry Michael was driving) and I see this!

Yes, folks, that is a cheerio stuck in the gap between her two front teeth. It was seriously hilarious.

I am so proud :).

I didn't realize her gap was that wide until now. Well, I am glad she can find humor in it :).

Making Halloween Treats

We made some Halloween brownies to enjoy for a Halloween treat. The girls were a wonderful help and enjoyed helping Mommy "cook."

The best part? Why, licking the spoon of course!!!
